I work in the construction industry and am a Director of a local engineering company. In my spare time I enjoy music (playing & listening), films / theatre, walking, motorsport and spending quality time with my family.

Mr Duncan White: Headteacher

Mrs Christine Flinton: Local Authority

I am a Local Authority Governor and have two children at Holly Primary School. I became a Governor in 2009 shortly after my first child began their journey with Holly. I work as a Community Safety Manager for Derbyshire County Council in which I engage with a whole range of partners to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. I feel passionately that school should be a positive experience for children and that equipping them with the knowledge, skills and awareness to become well-rounded, resilient young adults is equally as important as their academic achievements.

Miss Sophie McGuiness: Deputy Headteacher
Sept 2016 – Ongoing
Committees: Finance and Pupils.

I have worked in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Schools for the last 8 years. My vision is to ensure that every child has access to a happy and successful education. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, dancing, nights at the theatre and I’m a passionate supporter of the Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team.

Mrs Helen Westwell: Co-opted

I’m a staff nurse who has worked within the theatre department for 17 years and really enjoy my work. I am mum to Henry who is currently in year 2 and loves being in the Holly Primary family.  I am proud to be part of the wonderful team of staff and governors that provide a wonderfully caring atmosphere and make learning fun for all the children.

Mrs Julia Mayhew: Teacher

I have worked at Holly Primary school for twenty years and have been a member of the governing body for eighteen years. I believe that every child should be given the best chances in life and strive to have an excellent relationship with all families. I enjoy working outside with children in our beautiful school grounds. I have two grown up children and one grandson who has just started full time school.

Mr Andrew Hickling: Elected Parent
September 2014 – 2018
Committees: Finance and Pay.

I am married with three children, all of whom have attended Holly Primary School from Foundation onwards, although two of my children having been given a solid grounding here at Holly, have now moved onto Samworth Academy. I have lived locally all my life and believe in being involved with, and giving something back to the local community. This is why I joined the Holly team as a Parent Governor 5 years ago.  I have strong feelings on education, and I am committed to helping make Holly Primary a forward thinking, progressive school, where our children can receive an excellent standard of education, in a safe and nurturing environment.

Mr Neil Roebuck: Elected Parent
July 2015 – 2019

I currently hold the role of Parent Governor. I’ve lived in Forest Town since 2002 with my wife and our two children both attend Holly. At work I’m an internationally experienced finance professional, having held various roles during my career of increasing responsibility up to Director level, within the private sector for the last 20 years. Helping to advise and shape the future of Holly Primary gives me a  sense of huge pride, knowing that our children and their well-being are a priority.

Mr Andrew Gerus: Elected Parent
