Foundation Fun Summer One – 2018

We hope you have had a lovely Easter break! We are happy to welcome our new starters and all children back for another exciting half term!

This half term we are focussing our work on lots of lovely stories in which children will be given the opportunity to develop their reading and writing skills. Older children will be creating their own fictional stories with a beginning, middle and end. During Forest fun, we will be planting sunflowers and vegetables; caring for them to ensure they grow, as well as lots of other outdoor forest activities. In maths, we will be focussing on addition and subtraction, money, time and position.

For full-time children, PE will continue to be on a Monday and we will be using the apparatus so please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school every week. Starting on 8th May, full-time children will be participating in a football skills session, each week, until the end of the school year. Therefore, children will require suitable outdoor footwear in their PE kits.

Thank you for continuing to read every day with your children, lots of them have achieved their 200 reads now, which is amazing! This really helps your child develop a lifelong love of reading.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Foundation Team
