Welcome to Holly Primary School’s Governing body.

The details of our current governing body members and the committees on which they serve are outlined below and took effect from 31st July 2014. Members of the discipline committee are selected from all eligible governors as appropriate. You will find a copy of the Minutes from previous meetings below the Governor details.

I’m married with 2 children and have been a Governor at Holly Primary School since 2005. I’m also a Governor with a local secondary school (The Samworth Church Academy). I work in the construction industry and am a Director of a local engineering company. In my spare time I enjoy music (playing & listening), films / theatre, walking, motorsport and spending quality time with my family.

I am the Headteacher at Holly Primary. I am also a Mansfield Area Partnership Director who represents the Garibaldi Family of Schools. Here at Holly Primary we are extremely proud of the education we offer, our children and community deserve the very best and that is what we strive for.

I currently hold the role of Parent Governor. I’ve lived in Forest Town since 2002 with my wife and our two children both attend Holly. At work I’m an internationally experienced finance professional, having held various roles during my career of increasing responsibility up to Director level, within the private sector for the last 20 years. Helping to advise and shape the future of Holly Primary gives me a  sense of huge pride, knowing that our children and their well-being are a priority.

My Daughter is at Holly Primary school and enjoys her time there.  I work for a local authority and am currently within the housing team. I have always worked within the public sector so have a knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR and multi-agency/ partnership working. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with the family and friends, baking cakes, and watching films.

I’m married with two young boys starting out their education at Holly Primary. Previously I worked as a Chef but now I’m re training to be a teaching assistant and spend my time between home, co-running the ‘Friends of Holly’ and working as a Mid-Day Supervisor. I’m committed to helping our children achieve more in a fun and safe environment. I believe each child should be valued and allowed to develop their own self-esteem and confidence both academically and creatively.

Lesley Harper: Elected Parent

I have two children at Holly Primary and am currently a parent governor. I have worked in the legal profession for the past 15 years, specialising in dispute resolution, and use my skills to assist the school. I wish to play a part in providing our children with a happy, safe and productive school experience.

My son is at Holly Primary School. I’ve been helping with Friends of Holly since he started and I’m now also a parent governor. I worked for TTS Educational Resources for 9 years as a Marketing Manager so have knowledge of the education system and have organisational, project, budget and event management experience, which I hope will be useful for helping school. I love being in the outdoors, watching football, dancing and health & wellbeing.

Daniel Bennett: Assistant Headteacher

I have worked in both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire schools for over 12 years. Here at Holly, we offer a creative curriculum for all children to access and utilise our local area. In my spare time I am a keen golfer and enjoy spending time with friends and family.
